Understanding the Roots of Negativity

The weight of negativity is such that it more than affects our moods for a moment in the day or just for a day. As we all know powerful moods can even be carried with us for a week or more. The implications of what that can look like or how it can be held in the body varies.

Negativity--A Hidden Weight

Chronic negativity can trigger stress responses in the body, which, over time, may contribute to physical discomfort and vulnerability.

Varies to such a high degree that for some it becomes debilitating physically--impeding mobility, affecting the body in ways that manifest as heart conditions, immunity conditions, etc with no explanations that make sense to medical professionals. If you are unaware of what negativity is doing to your physical well-being and neglect to realize just how real these effects are you will find yourself stuck, retreating from society and only becoming worse.

Sarah's Story

This has been the case with a recent client who has been struggling with fighting the effects of negativity for almost a year. Let's call her Sarah. Sarah came to us having been bedridden and even unable to walk, lacking in the ability to even find balance. She underwent numerous heart tests, blood tests, you-name-it-tests...the doctors were unable to find the cause of what was ailing her. A couple of months later Sarah was fed up and went back in for more texts.  These tests, too did not reveal anything new.

It is at this point that Sarah came to me expressing how she had no idea what to do and where to turn.

She recounted her story to me and we began working backwards to understand where the negativity was coming from. This involved exploring past experiences and understanding the emotional roots of her distress.

A remarkable shift occurred. Within three days, Sarah, who had been bedridden, was able to get up and move around, albeit slowly...but the changes really can happen fast. It is different for everyone. After one month Sarah began to understand just what negativity was and how it was affecting her.

The Importance of Boundaries

Sometimes we think that we must be kind to make up for other's lack of kindness. Truth is we don't need to shoulder the world's hurts and pains...we only become doormats. It is important to be kind, don't get me wrong, but you must understand where the boundaries are so that you don't crumble under the weight of it all.

Setting a boundary might look like politely declining to listen to a colleague's constant complaints during your lunch break, or saying 'no' to taking on extra responsibilities when you're already feeling overwhelmed.

Behind the Name

The name Mahaavidyaa means Goddess of Great Wisdom. Mahaa - great Vidyaa - wisdom Many times a seeker pursues the path of Tantra because they are on a quest for supernatural powers. And sometimes the seeker does receive supernatural powers. What are these supernatural powers? Surviving freezing temperatures, withstanding immense heat, levitation, the ability to make fire appear from, seemingly, out of nowhere....  Sometimes the seekers can live extraordinarily long lives, between 250-1000 years and more. Many can survive on very little to no food, some merely surviving only on air itself. And then there are those who can even live without breath... for ages.  But that's not how it starts.  In the beginning the seeker should only be seeking knowledge, for it is only knowledge that is given in the beginning. Knowledge comes by transfer from teacher to student, through prophetic dreams, information scribbled in a book or by obtaining knowledge through another p...
